We are seeking a Business Analyst contractor in New Albany, Ohio with a strong understanding of retail operations, procurement, and business systems to support global brand operations and end-to-end procurement processes. The ideal candidate will bridge business and IT teams, support day-to-day operational activities, validate system enhancements, investigate issues, and help ensure business processes and systems function effectively. The candidate should combine practical retail or merchandising operations experience with analytical problem-solving, business systems support, and strong cross-functional communication skills.

We are seeking a Business Analyst contractor in New Albany, Ohio with a strong understanding of retail operations, procurement, and business systems to support global brand operations and end-to-end procurement processes. The ideal candidate will bridge business and IT teams, support day-to-day operational activities, validate system enhancements, investigate issues, and help ensure business processes and systems function effectively. The candidate should combine practical retail or merchandising operations experience with analytical problem-solving, business systems support, and strong cross-functional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and operational partners to support retail business processes and day-to-day activities.
- Support procurement, purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory planning, merchandising, or related
operational workflows. - Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases to validate system functionality and enhancements.
- Perform functional testing, support UAT, and validate system changes before production deployment.
- Investigate system incidents, troubleshoot issues, coordinate resolutions with technical teams, and help prevent recurring problems.
- Gather business requirements, document processes, maintain user documentation, and support system
implementations or enhancements. - Analyze operational data, identify discrepancies and process improvement opportunities, and communicate
findings to stakeholders. - Coordinate across business, IT, product, vendor, and operational teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, allocation, demand planning, purchasing, procurement, store-related processes, or related business operations.
- Understanding of retail workflows and supporting business systems.
- Experience supporting business applications, implementations, enhancements, production support, or process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Procurement or supplier-related experience including purchase orders, sourcing, vendor coordination, or purchasing workflows.
- Business systems support and testing experience including enhancements, UAT, issue investigation, and validation.
- Cross-functional communication with business stakeholders, IT, vendors, and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail organization experience in merchandising, allocation, supply chain, store operations, or global brand operations.
- Exposure to procurement processes, purchase orders, supplier coordination, sourcing, vendor pricing, or contract workflows.
- Hands-on testing experience including UAT and regression testing.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar incident management tools.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, inventory management, planning tools, or retail applications.
- Experience supporting launches, enhancements, training, documentation, and post-deployment support.
Ideal Candidate Background
- Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred:
- Business Analyst - Retail Operations or Merchandising
- Retail Systems or Business Applications Analyst
- Inventory, Allocation, or Demand Planning Analyst with systems support experience
- Procurement or Purchasing Analyst with business systems exposure
- Business Engagement Analyst or Production Support Analyst in a retail environment
- Supply Chain Analyst with retail process and application support experience
